(To the Woman) Gifts from the guys, what do we really want?

its coming up to your birthday/ anniversary/ easter/ valentines day/ xmas etc.

what is the gifts you would NOT prefer to receive?

and what would you prefer to have gotten instead?

heres an example.

i my self wouldent like to get teddies, my room is too small to put a over sized teddy anywhere. if i was to get a teddy from a friend or boyfriend it would have to be a tiny one, but still it would just be put on the side and forgot about

my point is, would you prefer to have a gift that u know you can find use of or something thats gonna sit on the side and collect dust?

and what about flowers? nice for the moment but dead and in the bin a week later. i guess they can be a good gift as they will only take up needed space for a week.

so girls tell me your views of the gifts you have recievd but wish that you had gotten something usefull or something you can wear now and then.

dont be too greedy but be honist. ;)

(To the Woman) Gifts from the guys, what do we really want?
I used to get my husband interesting presents for his birthday, for example, driving a Formula Ford car round a racetrack or going up in a glider. Also, when he hit 40, I organised a surprise birthday party with all his family and friends there. It was brilliant! Unfortunately, my husband has failed to reciprocate and my 40th birthday went by unremarked. So, in my dreams I would like to be whisked away somewhere really romantic (Paris would be great) on a shopping expedition then out in the evening to be wined, dined and taken to the theatre. You know, made a fuss off, like I was someone special.

Oh, the very worst birthday present I ever got was a Collins Complete Do-It-Yourself Manual. It%26#039;s sitting on a high shelf gathering dust. If my husband thought I was going to enthusiastically delve into it and start decorating and maintaining our house, he was either delusional or drunk. I exercised enough restraint to avoid bashing him over the head with it! But every time a see the book, I wistfully think of Champagne, Yellow Roses and Chanel No 5 Perfume. Dream on.......
Reply:A gift from a loved one should be excepted with love what ever it is but only if care has been given in the choosing of it. so a lot of the time they get it oh so wrong .My favourite gift would be a surprise trip some where or a romantic gesture.
Reply:Flowers wilt and die when you cut them so if I must have flowers, just get me a pot plant please boys.

I find teddies cute but they are 10 a penny and become clutter in no time. Under-ware is a necessity not a gift, especially when you haven%26#039;t bothered to get the size right to start with!!!

I would be be happy with a good book, a trip to the movies/theatre and dinner, a weekend away, just take me shopping or even spend a little quality time with me.
Reply:Here%26#039;s something creative that will be appreciated and you will have fun doing:

Make up a crossword puzzle and have all the hints be personal inside moments and jokes that only you two would know about. Put it on a poster board and add some clipart and some pictures to it!

The crossword puzzle could be time consuming and a bit frustrating ... you could do the same idea with a WORDSEARCH or WORDFIND puzzle.

Put your computer skills to work! Use Excel, get clipart from Yahoo Images Search, copy them, and reformat them, use a gluestick to put on posterboard.

Use graph paper, and pictures from magazines if you are not as good on the computer, and it will give it a homemade feeling.
Reply:the best gift I have been given was a hand made necklace. I am a severe Pontiac fan and he went through the trouble of making me the symbol and everything. It was from the heart and it showed he payed attention to what I am into. Aside from that, its one of a kind.

I like flowers too, NOT red roses though, that%26#039;s lame and overdone. Tiger-lilies =o)
Reply:I personally do not like useful presents, as useful to men means dowdy to me. Heaven forfend a man ever gives me a kettle or a magimix as a present! But the overly girly stuff like teddy bears and inflatable hearts is pretty annoying too, and a tad lazy. I like receiving flowers - any flowers. And chocolate. :)
Reply:I would hate to get flowers. the last time my boyfriend bought them for me he had a very guilty consience.

I would love for him to arrange for my car to be miraculously fixed. That would make my year!
Reply:Personally, I think stuffed toys, flowers, and chocolates are way overrated.

I am not much of a material girl so I prefer surprises such as a trip to let%26#039;s say a certain city or concert tickets or something.

It may also be painting of myself (if bf is artist), a poem (if poet), a song (if musician), stuff like that.

It%26#039;s the thought that really counts. Cliche but true.
